Distribution:
The species is distributed in Central- and Eastern Europe and in
Scandinavia.
Habitat:
The larvae of Anabolia furcata inhabit lakes, ponds, slowly
flowing rivers and streams or brooks in lower regions (Botosaneanu
& Malicky 1978); they also develop in temporary water bodies
(Ammer 1998).
Nutrition:
Larvae are shredders, scrapers, detritivore and carnivore (Graf
et al. 2002).
Adults:
Adults are on the wing from September to October (Waringer &
Graf 1997).
