Distribution: The species is widely distributed in whole Europe and European Russia, except for the southern Balkan.

Habitat: Aquatic stages of Ceraclea albimacula inhabit large rivers, streams and canals and show a preference for slowly flowing waters (Botosaneanu & Malicky 1978, Wallace et al. 2003).

Adults: Adults are present from June to September (Waringer & Graf 1997).
