Distribution:
The species shows a more northern distribution, reaching from West-
over Central and Eastern Europe to Scandinavia and European Russia.
Habitat:
Aquatic stages of Ceraclea nigronervosa live on stony substratum
in greater rivers, streams, seldom at stony lake shores; they even
occur in brackish water (Botosaneanu & Malicky 1978, Wallace
et al. 2003).
Nutrition:
Larvae feed on sponges (Spongillidae) (Graf et al. 2002).
Adults:
Adults are on the wing from June to October (Waringer & Graf
1997).
