Distribution:
The species shows a more northern distribution, extending from Britain,
West-, Central and East-Europe to Scandinavia, the Baltic States
and NW-Russia.
Habitat:
Hagenella
clathrata inhabits standing waters in fens and moors and can
be found among tussocks of grasses and sedges (Botosaneanu &
Malicky 1978, Mey & Joost 1986, Pitsch & Weinzierl 1992,
Robert & Wichard 1994, Wallace et al. 2003).
Adults:
Adults are on the wing from May to July (Waringer & Graf 1997).
