When
do I have to plug in the Wibu Key?
Don't
plug in the Wibu Key before you have
installed the software and restarted your computer. After the Setup
has been completed and the PC has been restarted, plug in the Wibu
Key and the driver will be installed automatically. Contrary,
when copying a second product, it is not necessary to remove the
key, because the driver has already been installed. |

|
The
.net framework installer does not work properly
If
this happened you can start the framework installer in the folder
\DotNetFx by a double-click on the
dotnetfx.exe. In this directory you
may also find the .net framework service pack
1. This tool may not be installed correctly when you use
Windows 2000 and out-dated service packs; In this case you must
download Windows 2000 SP3 or higher. |

|
The
MSDE setup breaks or does not work
1.
The user who installs the eutaxa
software must be a machine- or domainadministrator. Otherwise the
software can't be installed.
2.
For some reasons (i.e. if you have already installed a sql server
2000 on your PC) it may happen that the MSDE setup, which is included
into the eutaxa setup,
does not work. In this case you can start the MSDE setup directly
by running the setup.exe in the directory
MSDE on the CD. After this you have to append the eutaxa
database manually by running the EutaxaDbi.exe,
which has been installed in your directory program
files \Eutaxa on your PC. After starting
the EutaxaDbi.exe you get an error
message - confirm this dialog with "OK", select your application
(for example "Culicidae 05") and click on "Install".
Now a window appears where you must select or enter the database
server (i.e. by default computername\EUTAXA).
Select the radio button "SQL Server Security" and after
this enter the Login-Name "sa" and the password:"eutaxa".
In a next step click on the "Logon" button and accordingly
select the Eutaxa directory by clicking the little button with the
two points to set the directory selection dialog to active and select
by default the directory "program files\Eutaxa".
Confirm this procedure with "Ok" and the folder will be
displayed in a grey text field. Now you can click on the "Install"
button and the database will be installed (if the SQL server has
been installed correctly and is running). |

|
|
The
Wibu Key driver was not installed correctly
If
the Wibu Key driver was not installed
correctly, browse the directory of the CD, expand the files program
files\ Wibu Key\Install and start the setup.exe
with a double-click to install the driver software. If the installation
of the Wibu Systems Software has been broken (for example when pressing
the "Cancel"-button by mistake), install the program
manually by browsing to the directory Program
files/Wibu Key/Install on your CD and running the setup32.exe. |

|
|
It
is not possible to copy or print any images
Mind
that the Wibu protection key may impede
the copying of images while the eutaxa
software is running. In case of processing and copying images (for
example when using a graphic program) always close the eutaxa
software previously to disable the protection key. |
|
|
|
|
|
The
application cannot be opened
1.
If the software has been installed correctly, but the program cannot
be opened, the Wibu Key has to be installed
once again. Install the program manually by browsing to the directory
Program files/Wibu Key/Install on your
CD and run the setup32.exe.
2.
If the program does not react for a long time (i.e. minutes), please
check with the SQL Server Service Manager
in the system tray (in the right corner of the task bar) if the
SQL server is running. If it does not
work (indicated by a symbol with a small red quadrat), you have
to start the SQL Server Service Manager
manually: Click with the right mouse button on the tray symbol and
enable MSSQLServer-Start in the popup
menu. |

|
|
The
setup window cannot be closed when uninstalling the eutaxa software
When
uninstalling the eutaxa
software, it may happen that the window will not be closed automatically
after the software has been uninstalled successfully. If the program
displays a blue background image and does not react for a longer
time, please close the setup program manually. |

|
|
|
|
The
software cannot be uninstalled
If
the uninstalling breaks, insert one of the eutaxa
CDs, start the setup program and select the "Repair"-button.
After the repairing has finished, retry to uninstall the software.
To avoid software errors it is recommended to install the latest
version of the Eutaxa-Update. Move to the page Support/Downloads/Software
Updates and store the latest Eutaxa.exe in any directory on
your PC. Run the setup with a doubleclick on the Eutaxa.exe and
the file will be installed automatically. |

|
|
A
sub-application cannot be started
If
one of the sub-applications (for example the D-Key or Query Key)
cannot be started, open the "Eutaxa" folder in the directory
"Program files" and delete the Eutaxa.exe and the DLL
of the respective sub-application (e.g. QKey.dll). Subsequently
install the latest version of the Eutaxa-Update (described in the
previous chaptor) to replace both files. |

|
The
setup of a CD does not start automatically
In
this case the autorun task of your operating system has been disabled.
To start the installation, open the root directory of the CD and
doubleclick on the Setup.exe file. |
